Edward Murphy is an Assistant Professor of History and Global Urban Studies at Michigan State University. A graduate of the Doctoral Program in Anthropology and History at the University of Michigan, Murphy is also affiliated with the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies and the Center for Gender in Global Context at MSU. He is the author of Historias poblacionales: hacia una memoria incluyente and is currently completing A Home of One’s Own: The Urban Politics of Propriety in Chile, 1960 to 2010.
